The Rwandan National Congress (RNC) expresses its sincere appreciation to the United Nations Security Council for its dedicated efforts in addressing the ongoing insecurity in the African Great Lakes region. As a political organization of the Rwandan opposition, it is our duty to vigilantly monitor regional developments and express our support for peace initiatives, while condemning any actions that threaten the territorial integrity of the Democratic Republic of Congo. President Kagame’s continuous provocations have fueled instability in the Great Lakes region for almost three decades. The DRC has every right to defend its territory against any form of aggressors and challenge Rwanda’s justifications for its incursions and interference in the DRC’s internal affairs.
